For many years rhinoplasty has been connected to post-operative suffering and problematic results that made the nose look operated on. However, in the last decade rapid developments have happened in the operation. A number of techniques and a change in the philosophy of the operation itself, change in the philosophy of aesthetic intervention and in beauty standards. We want totally natural results that renew the face and make it look youthful and relaxed, without trouble, edemas and pain.
Extensive osteotomies of the past leave surgical marks, like shades and depressions in the middle of the nose. The intervention in the cartilage of the nose tip with the old removing methods gives the tip a sharp look, thin flaps which subside in breathing and often pressure effects and depressions at the side of the nose.
The characteristics of the new advanced rhinoplasty are:
- Pre-operative study: Photos-Endoscopy-Radiological Check. An aesthetic analysis of the face proportions is undertaken, measures of distances and angles with the eyes, the forehead, the lips, the chin. A projection of the possible result is given, so that the interested person knows the operation plan and provides his opinion.
- Predictable results: it means that the surgeon has the possibility to use the prediction he made. This is greatest achievement of modern rhinoplasty where the surgeon, using the new advanced suturing techniques and thin grafts, can determine himself the angles and inclinations of the nose in order to achieve the desired result.
- Permanent results: the results of the new rhinoplasty are apparent immediately after removing the splint. 90% of the edema disappears in the first month while the nose continues to form its lines during the first year. Even restorative rhinoplasties have exactly the same progress and this is caused by respect for tissue, smooth detachment and fine sutures. The most important however is that the results will keep over time. This is achieved with the use of supporting grafts, not only in the bridge of the nose, but also at the lateral walls so that the bridge height is maintained permanently but we also avoid tissue shrinkage in the lateral walls which would cause lateral depressions, asymmetries and a sharp appearance of the nose tip.
Restorative rhinoplasty with the use of cartilage paste
In cases with volume deficiency at the nose dorsum and bad tip formation, owed either to an accident or to a previous operation, we have the possibility for correction creating a smoother and natural nose contour using cartilage paste of the patient himself. We take cartilage from the nasal septum or other accessible cartilage sources of the patient and with a special preparation we create a cream-like material. This is put in a small syringe and fills the gaps in the nasal dorsum and the tip. In this way emaciated dorsa and strange shades and depressions from a previous rhinoplasty are improved. A wholly new and successful technique which becomes excellent in the hands of the specialized rhinosurgeon. It is all a result of the surgeon’s continued research and specialization. Experience and the use of all advanced techniques provides safety and high-level aesthetic results. The technique is applied with a short hospitalization.
Operation procedure – restoration
In the new, minimally invasive rhinoplasty, internal gauzes and blocking is not needed. In all cases an external thermoplastic splint is placed for a weed. The operation is painless and the patients returns to work and his daily activities within 15 days.
