WARTS | MASSES | SCARS

The correction of scars is done for their better cover. Indication for a correction may be simultaneously cosmetic and functional depending on where it is.

Any type of scar matures in about 12 months, but in some cases, it improves even later on its own. But if a recent scar causes serious deformity it can be corrected earlier than 12 months.

The surgical techniques we will follow for scar correction are the following:

  • Simple removal.
  • Plastic surgery W.
  • Geometric – broken line.
  • Local flaps.
  • Free grafts.

Dermabrasion and laser used to improve the scar surface.

Keloids and hypertrophic scars

It is an annoying complication in the process of healing of a wound

The exact cause is unknown, however there is excessive fibroblasts production and also violent wound closure is blamed, as well as bad surgical technique.

There are techniques for restoring keloid scars through a new operation in combination with local steroid injections.

Treatments are mentioned with tissue pressure, grafts and laser.

Scar correction and dermabrasion

The ideal scar must be flat, fine in width, on the same level as the surrounding skin and match the color of the skin in the area.

It must be parallel to the elasticity lines of the skin and suitably placed in the sub-groups of face division.

All the above are related to the ideal healing and cover of the scar.

Dermabrasion improves the scar image removing the surface layers of the skin and causing reconstruction through the creation of collagen.

It is ideally applied 6 – 8 weeks after the injury.

Indications:

  • Acne scars
  • Wound scars
  • Scars from a surgical operation
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Photo-aging

Warts restructuring

Warts – cysts – benign tumors

The removal of warts in the area of the head, face, neck is very often necessary for aesthetic reasons, but also for a histological examination of a suspect pre-existing or recent accumulation of melanocytes.

Removal is done under local anesthesia on an external patient basis.

Estimation of the gap that will be left and the design of the closure have been done previously.

The orientation of the wart or the mass which was removed is necessary so if there is a problem during the histological examination, the surgeon knows exactly how to proceed.

The aesthetic result will be excellent if the surgeon knows how to place his incisions on the natural lines of the face.
